spoon rings: a history rooted in love

spoon rings have a history rooted in love, and sometimes defiance. in 17th century england spoon rings were originally used as wedding rings by servants that could not afford traditional jewelry so they would steel flatware to make their betrothed a wedding ring. spoon rings became a gesture of love, commitment and responsibility. there are many "reproductions" of original, valuable flatware out there but they just don't compare to the detail and history of the originals. by reclaiming and reinvigorating a metal piece from the past, you are gaining a precious new wearable treasure. i spend an enormous amount of time scouring antique shops and rare flatware dealers to find just the right pieces. every listing includes pictures of the actual spoon (or flatware piece because I have been known to use forks as well) prior to cutting and shaping.
